Oakwood Resource Network

The Oakwood Resource Network (formerly known as Oakwood Connection) is a program that serves as an information source for alumni and current students who are looking for senior projects, internships, and career and mentoring opportunities. By tapping the invaluable resources, knowledge, experience and skills of the Oakwood community, the Resource Network is able to provide a broad spectrum of support and assistance to its members.
Senior Project Opportunities
The senior year concludes with a three week project designed and created by seniors themselves on topics and areas of specific interest. The Resource Network connects seniors to alumni and parents within those fields of interest.

Internships
Through the Resource Network alumni and parents can “advertise” an internship, part-time position or other employment opportunity for juniors or seniors at Oakwood or college attendees. These internships may be either volunteer or paid positions.

College Network
Oakwood juniors and seniors can contact alumni who are attending or have attended colleges that the student is interested in attending to get inside information. Alumni in college can contact other alumni living in the city in which the college is located to help acclimate them to the area.

Career Network
The Resource Network connects both alumni and students to career opportunities by offering career seminars, job opportunities or simply informational interviews to learn more about a particular career.

Mentor Network
The Resource Network will enable alumni and students to capitalize on the expertise of Oakwood community through mentoring opportunities.
Current Needs
We are currently looking for opportunities for senior projects in the spring and internships this summer in various fields, including finance, entertainment, marketing, music, law, public relations, fashion and journalism, to name a few. If you are able to help provide this experience, are willing to serve as a mentor to a student or alum, or would like to learn more about this program, please contact Barbara in the alumni office at bbickel@oakwoodschool.org or call 818.752.5275.
