Meet our Registrar Diane Wymer. A product of the diplomatic corps, you might hear her speaking Swiss-German to her parents in Germany or family in Switzerland. Diane helps Oakwood families navigate the college selection process.

admissions alumni support teaching
Virtually all Oakwood students continue on to college. Throughout their secondary school experience, students work with their advisors to develop a balanced curriculum which will nurture their interests and talents while affording them the widest range of options when the college selection process begins.

As this demanding time approaches, students and parents have individual and group meetings with the college counselors. Parents are invited to attend workshops about college admissions so that they may work effectively with their children to make well-informed and appropriate choices. Oakwood graduates regularly report that their success in college is in no small measure due to the intellectual curiosity and independence of thought that were encouraged during their elementary and secondary school years.

We highly encourage our junior and senior families to make use of "Family Connection." Letters to Students and Families
Cumulative grade-point averages are calculated using all graded courses taken at Oakwood (and any previous high school), starting with 9th grade. Summer school courses (including repeated courses) are not used in GPA calculations. Honors and AP courses are not weighted. Pluses and minuses are included in the calculation. (However, the A+ designation was discontinued in January 1997.) Individual students are not ranked.
