Oakwood does much more than welcome monetary contributions from its parents and alumni; the school depends on them. Indeed, the Annual Fund sustains daily life at the school, the Capital Fund enables us to update and expand our facilities, and the school's growing Endowment safeguards the future.
Be a Founder of the Future of Oakwood
Capital giving allows us to undertake projects like creating new facilities and updating existing buildings. Throughout our history, generous families have supported major land and building acquisitions and have helped to build the Math/Science Building and the Music, Dance and Athletic Center, both on the secondary school campus.
Fundraising for and building of The Play Space on the elementary campus is now complete. We have all been beneficiaries of the commitment of previous generations, so we need to do our part today to make enhancements for future students. We ask for all families to make a gift to support the Capital Campaign, to be a founder of the future of Oakwood, in addition to their annual fund gift. For more information about making a pledge for capital projects at the school, please call the Director of Development (Ann Eggleston (818) 752-4429).

Annual Fund
The Annual Fund allows Oakwood to make up the difference between what it collects in tuition and what it actually spends each year to provide the highest possible quality education. Money collected for the Annual Fund is spent in the year they are received. It's important to note that many companies have matching gift programs that allow you to double or triple your gift. Please call the Development Coordinator (Nancy Leptuch 818-752-4407) with any questions of to find out if your company matches gifts. The school encourages every parent to make a gift, and aims for 100% participation regardless of giving level. For more information on what the Annual Fund does...
Endowment Fund
The most powerful safeguard of Oakwood's long-term well-being is its endowment. An endowment is a fund in which the principal and earnings are protected, in perpetuity, except for a small percentage of the investment income that is used to support school programs. In addition to individual contributions designated for endowment, the proceeds from the annual Special Event go directly to endowment (which now exceeds $8.5 million). For a description of the funds or to find out about creating an endowed fund, please call the Director of Development (Ann Eggleston 818-752-4429).

The Capital Campaign
The Capital Campaign helps ensure the school's readiness to meet the growing needs of its students and program by raising funds to build and renovate facilities. All parents, along with our extended school community--alumni, past parents, grandparents, etc.--are encouraged to participate in the Capital Campaign as generously as their means permit.
At the Secondary School:
In recent years we completed the Math & Science Building, and the Music, Dance, and Athletic Center, phases I and 2 of our original master plan. Due to recent land acquisitions adjacent to the secondary school, we will be updating the master plan. Future phases will include a performing arts complex, library, classrooms and administrative offices in addition to other facilities.
At the Elementary School:
A long-term master planning process has been completed at the elementary school to enable Oakwood to expand the K-6 program and population, and to build a new and far more adequate campus. Phase I, The Play Space, is now completed and used every moment of the school day for athletics, classroom activities and school-wide celebrations.
At this time we are not soliciting donations for this fund however donations are welcome. To donate or make a payment on an existing pledge...
