Human Development

The Human Development program in middle school provides an important venue to address some of the most common issues faced in early adolescence.  This course covers subjects such as peer pressure, family life, nutrition, eating disorders, gender differences, puberty, the reproductive system, emotional health, and the risks associated with tobacco, alcohol and
drug use.

Each year Oakwood partners with FCD to offer Oakwood School students. FCD, Freedom from Chemical Dependency, is a non-profit organization that provides substance abuse prevention education for schools. This program complements information received in human development and advisory, throughout the year.
