Athletics

The Oakwood Athletics program complements the school’s rigorous and innovative college preparatory program by offering a wide variety of competitive team sports, providing students the opportunity to develop mind, body and character for themselves, their team, and their school.

HIGH SCHOOL

Fall: Cross Country, Flag Football, Girls Golf, Girls Tennis, Girls Volleyball

Winter: Basketball, Soccer

Spring: Baseball, Softball, Boys Tennis, Track & Field Boys Volleyball

Year Round: Fencing, Equestrian
 
Additional offerings are supported as club sports and can qualify for independent P.E. with the approval of the Athletic Director.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Fall: Cross Country, Flag Football, Girls Golf, Girls Tennis, Girls Volleyball

Winter: Basketball, Soccer

Spring: Baseball, Softball, Boys Tennis, Track & Field Boys Volleyball

Year Round: Fencing, Equestrian

Elementary Campus

Oakwood competes in the San Fernando Valley Private School League against schools in greater Los Angeles including Campbell Hall, Viewpoint, John Thomas Dye, Curtis, The Buckley School, and Sierra Canyon.

Students compete in sports such as:

Oakwood qualifies for playoff competition annually. Recent accomplishments include undefeated seasons for our Flag Football teams and League Championships in Boys and Girls Basketball.
 
Every coach at Oakwood is a teacher, who embodies the Oakwood philosophy with an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, fair play, and positivity.

Over the past year, all high school varsity sports Oakwood teams advanced to the CIF-SS playoff and 34 players received all-league recognition.

Under the leadership of Steve Smith, over 20 graduating athletes have gone on to compete in college.
