Oakwood Alumni Reunion, 2017

On Saturday, May 20, the Oakwood classes of 1977, 1987, 1997 & 2007 returned to campus for their alumni reunion. Oakwood Extension 2017

Learning is a lifelong experience.

Saturday, April 22 saw the return of a very popular event to the Secondary School campus. It had been a few years since the last Oakwood Extension, which celebrates what is truly special about the Oakwood community and its commitment to, and belief in, lifelong learning. There were many familiar faces as alumni, current and past parents, and faculty members mingled and happily greeted one another. There were also many who were new to this event.

Classes and workshops covered a wide range of topics—from curating art in a museum, learning about whiskey, and discussing the current political climate, to diversity in the entertainment industry and an interview with an actor. The panelists, speakers, and moderators were all past or present members of the Oakwood community. The evening always brings people back to get reacquainted. For newer families, we hope you will join the Alumni Association the next time we "extend" the invitation!

The Oakwood Alumni Council is the cornerstone of our volunteer leadership and provides opportunities to get involved with our Annual Giving and/or Events Committees. This volunteer committee meets on campus approximately every other month to plan and implement Alumni related initiatives, activities and events.

We are always looking for alumni who are available to volunteer on an ad hoc basis for fun events like the Fall Fair or Oakwood Extension. Contact Erin Fitzgerald to learn how.
